In the modern world of fast foods take out meals and a rushed everyday lifestyle, our health is taking a beating on a daily basis. It is estimated that 25 percent of people are overweight, and the number of people who suffer from obesity is increasing at an alarming rate. Although exercise is a key factor in to maintain a healthy weight, what we eat is very important to our health. Many people rarely consider eating raw food as part of their diet.
Generally speaking, when someone hears the words raw food, they immediately think of raw meats, fish and other products that are normally cooked before being eaten. Raw foods are actually anything that is consumed without being cooked first. These include fresh fruit and vegetables among other foods than can be eaten raw.
This however does not mean that a well prepared home cooked meal is not nutritious; meals made with the right ingredients can be healthy, especially if they are prepared and cooked correctly.
But it is fair to say that if people introduced more raw products into their daily diets, their general health would be improved. Raw foods have a good impact on the body, and some even perform a particular function in making the body healthier.
